Barn swallows are one of the most abundant bird species in the world. It is estimated that over 700,000 birds breed in the UK over the summer months, after travelling over 6000 miles from their winter homes in subsaharan Africa.

I photographed this barn swallow feeding its chick in the late summer of 2021. It has since received two awards -- a bronze medal at the Royal Photographic Society's 2022 nature exhibition and a perfect score at the Surrey Photographic Society's 2021 print competition.

Barn swallow feeding chick is available as a 48 by 36 cm print in a signed, limited edition of 10. It is professionally printed on 300 gsm smooth cotton Fotospeed paper and can be purchased unframed or framed. The images here are framed with a 3.5 cm black wooden frame with non-reflective glass. The total size is 71 by 59 cm.
