'Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time.'
Ethics & Social Policy
I care deeply about about protecting the environment and the wildlife that inhabits it. A key aim of GnomeGirl Photography is to celebrate the beauty and importance of natural habitats and raise awareness about activities and policies that threaten them. For this reason, 20% of my Matchables profits are donated to the RSPB and Wildlife Trusts each year to support their conservancy and advocacy efforts.
All of the animals depicted on this website were photographed unrestrained and in their natural environments with three exceptions: a hedgehog and an eagle owl, which were photographed at the British Wildlife Centre and the harvest mice, which were photographed with my props at Dean Mason’s Window’s on Wildlife licensed hide.
There are many ethical controversies in wildlife photography. When photographing nature and wildlife, I do my best to minimally impact my subjects, adhering closely to the Royal Photographic Society’s Nature Photographer’s Code of Practice and the UK Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
