About GnomeGirl

GnomeGirl is an award-winning nature photographer living in Surrey, England. Since renewing her interest in photography in 2012, she has been using her spare time to photograph all things wild and wonderful.

A silver lining of the COVID pandemic was that it gave her the opportunity to learn more about the UK's wonderful wildlife and photograph many local species.

On these pages she shares some of her favourite images, as well as information about some of the places and animals that she has photographed.

Distinctions & Awards

GnomeGirl (aka Kirsten Asmussen)  is proud to have earned two Distinctions from the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) — the Licentiate (LRPS) awarded to me in October 2019 and an Associate (ARPS) in Natural History, awarded in September 2021. Her ARPS panel was featured in the Winter 2021 edition of the Iris, the RPS' magazine of the Natural History Group.
